Problem
Fit Nutrition is a supplement retailer in the health and fitness industry. Fit Nutrition required an uplift of their current e-commerce system, which was developed using an outdated technology platform. Furthermore, their integration with payment services, third party logistics, and automated marketing systems was failing due to the unreliability of the technology. This meant manual processes needed to be created to ensure data could be submitted between systems when the technology failed.
Solution
Fit Nutrition contracted Station Five for the development of a new e-commerce solution with reliable integration with third party platforms. We started by working with the client to understand the business requirements upon key actions such as completion of an order.
Challenges arose in ensuring the correct flow of processes occurred. For instance, completion of an order required pre-approval of stock availability from the supply chain management solution, funds within the customer’s bank account, and availability of the shipment provider at the required time. By working through these challenges with both the client and their external providers, we were able to setup technology processes that automated this sequence flow to enable a seamless purchasing process for Fit Nutrition whilst removing the manual processes required. Furthermore, this automation of the process ensured product is not sold when unavailable, which has improved the customer experience and satisfaction.
Fit Nutrition and Station Five continue to work on an ongoing basis for further feature development and enhancements to their technology suite.
